Orphans and the Church
Watch this short video from Steven Curtis Chapman about orphans and the church. Click here.
Prayer Cards
We have had many families pick up cards of orphans in India and Kenya to pray for. We still have some left that need prayed for so if you would like to pray for one (or more) child, please contact us. We have set up a pen pal type of system with the children in India (we are hoping to do the same for Kenya) and so it would be nice to have a pen pal for each and every child. Thank you for praying for these children!
Orphan's Closet
We held our first Orphan Closet Drive at NorthPointe and were blown away by all the donations! Our church family is amazing. We are still sorting all the items but we have hundreds of pieces of clothes from 0-teen, 3 strollers, 2 swings, a highchair, a glider, bottles, bouncy seats, etc. If anyone in the church is adopting or fostering and in need of items please contact us. We will also be contacting some local agencies to get the items in the hands of the fatherless in our area. Thank you NorthPointe for making this drive a huge success!

Why the Name KNOWN?
The name KNOWN was chosen simply because we know that each and every orphan around the world is known by God. He knows their specific circumstances and has unique plans and desires for each of them. Many times we merely look at the large number of orphans in the world and only think of them as "one child of the millions that are fatherless" but God knows each of them individually. Mother Teresa said "each one of them [orphans] are Jesus in disguise" so when we care for one of these orphans, we care for Jesus himself. God speaks through you and when you care for an orphan you are delivering a message from God saying, "Little one, you are so special to me. I knew you where you were, and I picked you out and placed you here. I knew you would be here from the beginning of time."
The Beginning of KNOWN
We are a group of caring individuals who want to mirror the image of how God has adopted each of us into His family. We are individuals who have adopted, fostered, or simply have a heart for the orphaned child. Our heart's desire is that one day we will be able to see every orphaned child in a home. To aid in that process we wannt to bring awareness into the church about fostering, adopting, and how to reach out to help the fatherless community. We are called by God to "look after orphans and widows in their distress..." James 1:27 It is not a suggestion by God, we are called.
We have a desire to provide care to orphans in as many ways as we possibly can. Because the world of orphan care is so large, we have split the ministry into three areas: foster care, adoption, and local/international orphan care.
